In New Zealand, the Pakistani women's cricket team creates history

DUNEDIN: In the second consecutive game of the current Twenty20 series in New Zealand, the Pakistani women’s cricket team defeated the New Zealand team to win the series.

Dunedin hosted Pakistan and New Zealand’s second Twenty20 match of the series. When batting first, team green set a goal of 138 runs in 20 overs; however, the players from New Zealand could only manage 127 runs in the allotted time.

The Pakistan Women’s team featured innings of 35 and 32 runs, respectively, from Muniba Ali and Alia Riaz.

To set up the team’s victory, Pakistani bowlers Fatima Sana claimed three wickets and Sadia Iqbal claimed two. The Afghan Cricket Board declared that Salman Butt should serve as a batting consultant.

Pakistan sealed the series 2-0 with a 10-wicket victory in the second match. On December 9, the series’ last game will take place in Queenstown.

A three-day ODI series is also planned to follow the national team’s Twenty20 series against New Zealand.
