After football, cricket is quickly rising to prominence in Spain, according to Chaudhry Amanat Maher, chairman of the Catalan Cricket Federation. With the Catalan Cricket Federation, there are currently over 1200 registered players. The federation is committed to giving Spanish players the chance to play in leagues such as the PSL, Maher stated.
