Former Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the Nelson Mandela talent hunt programme for U19 cricketers in Karachi

This prestigious appointment recognizes Sarfaraz’s experience and success in cricket, particularly leading Pakistan to victory in the U19 World Cup in 2006. Sarfaraz’s involvement in this talent hunt programme is expected to bring about positive change in the cricketing landscape of Karachi.
The Nelson Mandela talent hunt programme aims to provide opportunities and support to young cricketers in Karachi. Through trials conducted in different zones of the city, a total of 60 players will be selected to form four teams.
These teams will then undergo training and preparation before a final squad of 15 players is chosen to represent Karachi in South Africa, where they will gain valuable exposure and experience.
Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed his excitement and gratitude for being a part of this initiative. He acknowledged the efforts of the South African High Commissioner, Mthuthuzeli Madikiza, in launching this programme and providing a platform for young cricketers in Karachi to showcase their talent.The trials for U19 cricketers are scheduled to take place in the third week of May, with Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fawad Alam, and other Karachi cricketers supervising the process.
