RIYADH (November 8, 2025): Pakistan’s boxer Fatima Zahra confirmed the nation’s first medal at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games after an outstanding performance in the Women’s 60kg quarterfinal on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old secured a 5-0 victory over Hamda Melissa of Algeria to advance to the semifinals, guaranteeing Pakistan at least a bronze medal. The match took place at the Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Zahra showcased complete dominance in all three rounds, earning perfect 10s from all five judges in each round except for one judge in the second round. Her remarkable consistency and power left no doubt about her qualification for the next stage.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Maria Rind lost 5-0 to Rabia Topuz of Turkiye, while Laura Djida Akram was defeated by her Uzbek opponent in the same event.
In the men’s category, Qudrat Ullah will begin his campaign in the Men’s 55kg quarterfinal on Saturday against Yousif Hassa Othman of Palestine.
A 53-member Pakistani contingent is competing at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025, being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 7 to 21.
