LAHORE : Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that the training camps of Punjab teams for the preparation of 35th National Games will be organised after Eidul Fitr. Sports Board Punjab has accelerated the preparations of upcoming grand event. He expressed these views while presiding over an important meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Deputy Director Chand Perveen and Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti attended the meeting in person while all Divisional Sports Officers of the province participated in the meeting through video link.
Besides other important issues the selection criteria of Punjab’s different teams for participation in the National Games was discussed in detail during the meeting. The 35th National Games will be organised in Karachi from May 6 to 14, 2025.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that talented and best players of the province will be selected for participation in the National Games. “The participating athletes will be selected purely on merit,” he added.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry further said that the provincial sports associations will also be involved in the selection process of players for participation in the National Games. “The training camps will also be conducted in other cities besides Lahore for the convenience of players”.
