National Tennis: Sarah Mehboob and Aqeel Khan Claim Crowns

ISLAMABAD: On Sunday at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, top-ranked Pakistani tennis players Aqeel Khan and Sarah Mehboob Khan won the men’s and women’s singles titles, respectively, at the 8th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships 2023. They did so by defeating Mehak Khokhar 2-0 and Mohammad Shoaib 2-1 in the finals.

At the closing ceremony, the chief guest was Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani. The honoree on this occasion was Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, President of PTF. Along with a sizable contingent of players and coaches, the closing ceremony was also attended by Gul Rehman, Secretary-General; Imran Hassan, Director/S&M/TPS) Serena Hotels; Hina Nazir Serena Hotels; and Muhammad Saleem Marwat, President-KP Tennis Association.

The Championships was supervised by Shahzad Akhtar Alvi -ITF White Badge Referee

Men’s Singles: Aqeel Khan beat Mohammad Shoaib 6-3, 1-6, 6-2

Ladies’ Singles: Sarah Mahboob Khan beat Meheq Khaokhar 6-3, 6-2

Boys’ U14 Single: Amir Mohammad Khan Mazari beat Abdul Basit 7-5, 5-7, 7-5
