Pakistan will host the Asia Rugby Men’s Division 1 tournament in July, the Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) announced on Tuesday.

The tournament will be held at the Jinnah Stadium in Karachi from July 15-23.A total of six teams will compete in the tournament, including Pakistan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Thailand. The top two teams will qualify for the Asia Rugby Championship, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to Division 2.
This is the first time that Pakistan will be hosting an international rugby tournament since 2017. The PRU is hoping that the tournament will help to raise the profile of rugby in Pakistan and attract more players to the sport.
“We are very excited to be hosting the Asia Rugby Men’s Division 1 tournament,” said PRU President Amjad Ali Khan.
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our rugby talent to the world and to promote the sport in Pakistan.”The PRU has been working hard to develop rugby in Pakistan in recent years.
The union has established a number of new rugby clubs and schools, and has also introduced rugby into the national curriculum.The PRU is hoping that the Asia Rugby Men’s Division 1 tournament will help to further develop rugby in Pakistan and to create a pathway for young players to reach the international stage.
“We are confident that this tournament will be a success,” said Khan. “We have a great team of players and coaches, and we are determined to do well.”The Asia Rugby Men’s Division 1 tournament is a key part of the Asia Rugby Championship, which is the top tier of rugby in Asia.
The top two teams in the Asia Rugby Championship qualify for the Rugby World Cup, which is the biggest rugby tournament in the world.
Pakistan has never qualified for the Rugby World Cup, but the PRU is hoping that the Asia Rugby Men’s Division 1 tournament will help to put Pakistan on the map and to give the country a chance to compete at the highest level of rugby.
