LAHORE: On the third day of the Samsung and Hamdan-sponsored Hamadan Lahore Open Polo Championship, Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes triumphed over DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel, winning 7–5.
The only match of the day, held here at the Lahore Polo Club on Thursday, attracted a rapt audience that included members of the executive committee, the secretary, and many families who came to watch the fierce competition. Lahore Polo Club President Malik Azam Hayat Noon was among those in attendance.
In an exciting match, Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes prevailed over DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel despite a strong challenge. With an outstanding three goals, Raja Temur Nadeem led the winning team. Saqib Khakwani added a brace, while Qadeer Ashfaq and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed each scored one goal. For DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel, Nicholas Roberts displayed remarkable polo skills, tallying three goals, while Daniyal Sheikh netted two. The spectators were on the edge of their seats throughout the hotly contested match.
Two significant games are scheduled for today, Friday. The first game pitting Newage Cables against the Rijas Polo teams is set for 2:00 pm. After that, Master Paints and Remounts will square off in the second game of the day at 3:00 pm.
