Peshawar Zalmi to train 20 budding cricketers at National Cricket Academy

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017-winning franchise Peshawar Zalmi has started talent hunt program at Hayatabad Cricket Stadium. According to details, Zalmi completed two-day trials under the supervision of their director cricket, Mohammad Akram.

As many as 1000 young cricketers appeared during the trials. Four teams, named Babar Azam XI, Darren Sammy XI, Inzamamul Haque XI and Kamran Akmal XI, will be made for a four-team tournament. After the tournament, 20 young cricketers will be selected.

These cricketers will get training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Lahore. Zalmi’s director of cricket Akram said: “I am surprised to see such a massive response during the trials. It was amazing to watch talented cricketers.

“These cricketers are the future of Pakistan. It is a great step by Peshawar Zalmi to provide opportunities to the youngsters.”It must be noted here that Zalmi won their only PSL title in 2017 in Lahore. Former West Indian captain Sammy led Zalmi to victory against Quetta Gladiators in a historic final.

This year, they were led by Babar Azam for the very first time. They finished their PSL 8 journey after losing against Lahore Qalandars in the Eliminator 2.
