Pakistani Juniors Shine at ITF World Tennis Championships

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) announced that the ITF Pakistan National Foods World Junior Tennis Championship J-60 (2025) continued successfully at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

A large number of junior tennis players from around the world — including China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Nepal, and host nation Pakistan — are competing in this prestigious event, proudly sponsored by National Foods of Pakistan.

In the boys’ singles, Pakistan’s Hamza Roman and Mikaeel Ali Baig qualified for the final. In the boys’ doubles, Hamza Roman, Mikaeel Ali Baig, and Abubakar Talha also advanced to the final.

Meanwhile, in international action, Pakistan’s Nadir Mirza reached the semifinals of the ITF World Junior Tennis Championship (J-30) in Osaka, Japan, after defeating Kodai Abe (Japan) 6-4, 6-1 in an impressive quarterfinal display.

Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, congratulated the players, stating:

“Our players are performing remarkably well across the world, and I am very happy to see such positive results. We have two boys in the singles final and three in the doubles final in Islamabad, while Nadir has reached the semifinal in Japan. This is a great testament to the hard work being done for the development of tennis in Pakistan.”

Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary General of PTF, also praised the young athletes for their excellent performances both at home and abroad, wishing them continued success.
