ISLAMABAD: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Aqeel Khan, the top tennis duo in Pakistan, defeated Baratullah and Yousaf Khalil in straight sets 2-0 in the final at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad, on Saturday to win the Men’s Double event of the 8th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships. In the Under-18 championship match, Ahmed Nael Qureshi defeated Mohammad Hamza Aasim 2-0 with scores of 6-3 and 6-2 to win the championship.
Following their respective semifinal victories over their rivals, Sarah Mahbbob and Meheq Khokhar are scheduled to face off in the ladies’ singles championship match. At 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, the championship game will take place. At that same location, Pakistan’s top player, Aqeel Khan, will face country’s second-ranked player, Muhammad Shoaib, in the men’s singles final.
