INTERNATIONAL SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS AT CAS-SERENA HOTELS
ISLAMABAD At the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad on Thursday, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS)-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship for Men and Women got underway. Eight male and eight female players advanced past the first round of this prestigious squash competition.
Mehwish Ali, the top national girl of Pakistan, won her first match against Mariam Malik 3-1. The match lasted 38 minutes on the court, with the final scores being 11-5, 9-11, 12-10, and 11-5.
In the first round of the championship, eight players were eliminated: Ibrahim Elkabbani from Egypt; Ong Sai Hung from Malaysia; Mohamed Nasser from Egypt; Noor Zaman from Pakistan; Seif El-Shenawy from Egypt; Wee Ming Hock from Malaysia; Khaled Labib from Egypt; and Mohammad Asim Khan from Pakistan.
