Pakistan Players Storms Semis at ITF World Junior Tennis Championship

Islamabad, November 6, 2025 — The home crowd at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad had plenty to cheer about today as three of Pakistan’s brightest young stars punched their tickets to the Boys’ Singles semi-finals at the prestigious ITF Pakistan National Foods World Junior Tennis Championship J-60 – 2025.

The tournament, which has drawn top junior talent from over ten nations including China, Japan, Russia, the UK, and the Czech Republic, is heating up sponsored by National Foods of Pakistan.

Dominance in Boys’ Singles

Pakistan’s hopes are high, with three local boys, Hamza Roman, Mikaeel Ali Baig, and Abubakar Talha, securing spots in the final four.

Abubakar Talha showed true grit, overcoming Japan’s Ippie Matsushima in a thrilling three-set contest. After taking the first set, Talha dropped a tight tie-breaker in the second, but rallied in the decider to seal the win: 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-1.

Mikaeel Ali Baig delivered a clinical performance, dispatching Kristijonas Milasauskas of Lithuania in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, demonstrating strong control from the baseline.

Completing the Pakistani trio, Hamza Roman powered past the Czech Republic’s Nicolas Moravec with a composed 6-2, 6-4 victory.

The only upset for the hosts in the singles came as Turkey’s Emre Atlamis defeated Muhammad Hassan Usmani (PAK) in another three-set battle: 6-4, 0-6, 6-1.

Double Delight and International Drama

Pakistan also boasts significant representation in the Boys’ Doubles semi-finals, with five players advancing, including the formidable pairing of Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha, who defeated compatriots Amir Mazari and Zohaib Afzal Malik 6-4, 6-3.
