Virat Kohli, who is currently the second-highest scorer in ODIs with 43 centuries, is inching closer to Tendulkar’s record. He needs just six more centuries to equal Tendulkar’s record and seven more to break it.

Speaking to the media ahead of the first ODI against South Africa, Kohli said that he is aware of the record and that it is something that he is working towards.

“I am aware of the record and it is something that I am working towards,” Kohli said. “It would be an emotional moment for me to break Sachin’s record. He is a legend of the game and I have always looked up to him.”

Virat Kohli also said that he is not under any pressure to break Tendulkar’s record and that he is just focusing on playing his natural game.

“I am not under any pressure to break Sachin’s record,” Kohli said. “I am just focusing on playing my natural game and if I am able to break the record, it will be a bonus.”

Kohli will have a chance to break Tendulkar’s record when India takes on South Africa in the first ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday
