Pakistan Sports Board Allocates Over 1 Billion Rupees to Sports Federations and Athletes

Several key sports federations benefited significantly from PSB’s funding. The Pakistan Volleyball Federation received a total of 11.5 million rupees over the five-year period, with a substantial grant of 10 million rupees released in 2023-24 alone.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), one of the biggest beneficiaries, received 10.36 crore rupees in total over five years, with a remarkable allocation of 590 million rupees disbursed in the last financial year, reflecting the PSB’s efforts to revive and strengthen the national sport of hockey.

The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) also saw substantial support, with over 10 crore rupees allocated in five years. Of this, 7 crore rupees were disbursed in FY 2023-24, emphasizing the board’s focus on track and field sports.

Other Federations Receiving Support

The Netball Federation received 7 crore rupees in funding over the five-year period, with 6.5 crore rupees being allocated in the last two fiscal years alone. This marks a major boost for netball, a sport that is gaining traction in Pakistan.

The Taekwondo Federation received 6 crore rupees over five years, showing increasing support for martial arts disciplines. Similarly, the Pakistan Tennis Federation received 4 crore 86 lakh rupees, and the Squash Federation was granted 5 crore rupees during the same period.
