Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Salalah, Oman, on Monday after a thrilling 3-2 win against Japan. The win also secured Pakistan’s place in the Junior World Cup, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 5-16, 2023.
Pakistan took the lead in the 23rd minute when Arbaz Ahmed scored from a penalty corner. Japan equalized in the 30th minute, but Abdul Wahab scored two field goals in the 30th and 39th minutes to give Pakistan a 3-1 lead.

Japan pulled a goal back in the 48th minute, but Pakistan held on for the win.Abdul Wahab was named man of the match for his two goals. He also had a number of other chances, and his performance was a major factor in Pakistan’s victory.With the win, Pakistan finished second in Pool A behind India.
