Exciting Quarterfinals Played at SBP Junior Tennis Championship

LAHORE, June 16, 2023 — The quarterfinals of the Sports Board Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2023 were played on Friday at the State-of-the-Art SBP Tennis Academy at Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

Over 100 tennis players of U-8 to U-18 age groups are participating in the tournament, in which Rs 75,000 cash prize will be distributed among top performers.

In the Boys U-18 category, Asad Zaman, Yafat Nadeem, Ahmed Raza, and Hassan Ali all advanced to the semifinals with comfortable victories.

Asad Zaman defeated Haider Nadeem 8-3, Yafat Nadeem beat Ahmad (Gym) 8-0, Ahmed Raza beat Abu Bakar Khalil 8-0, and Hassan Ali beat Shaheer Khan 8-0.

In the Boys U-16 category, Shaheer Khan and Hanzla Anwar also advanced to the semifinals. Shaheer Khan beat Aalay Hussain 8-5, and Hanzla Anwar beat Hassan Alsm 8-3.

In the Boys U-14 category, Abdur Rehman, Ibrahim Sufi, and Aalay Hussain all advanced to the semifinals. Abdur Rehman beat Awais Zia 8-0, Ibrahim Sufi beat Romail Shahid 8-1, and Aalay Hussain beat M Shahryar 8-3.

The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be played on Sunday, June 19.The tournament is being organized by the Sports Board Punjab and is part of their efforts to promote tennis in the province.

The tournament is also providing a platform for young tennis players to showcase their talent and compete for the top prizes.
