The court questioned how the accreditation could be withheld for journalists who have previously covered such events.Senior lawyer Abdul Wahid Qureshi represented the journalists in court.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) counsel, Taffazul Hussain Rizvi, informed the court that 118 media persons had been granted accreditation for the Rawalpindi Test matches, while 70 journalists, including the petitioners, were not given access.

He explained that the media box in the Rawalpindi Stadium has limited capacity.Justice Babar Sattar inquired about the criteria used to select the 118 accredited journalists.

Rizvi clarified that the decision was not related to any criticism of the PCB, but rather due to security clearance issues concerning the journalists who were denied accreditation.

Rizvi assured the court that the PCB would work to resolve the matter. Justice Babar Sattar emphasized that the PCB should address this issue independently and submit a report to the court next week. The hearing was adjourned until September 10.
