New Zealand stars the big winners on latest rankings update

A host of white-ball stars from New Zealand have been rewarded by making eye-catching moves on the latest MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.

The White Ferns registered a hard-fought 2-1 series triumph over Pakistan on home soil and it was a trio of their established stars that led the way.

Experienced opener Suzie Bates scored a series high 206 runs from three innings and moved up five places to 18th overall behind No.1 ranked English batter Nat Sciver-Brunt as a result.

Women ODI’s Batting Rankings

Teammate Amelia Kerr jumped up once place to ninth overall on the same list after her 164 runs for the series, while Maddy Green improved nine places to equal 23rd following her 152 runs that included two unbeaten innings.

Pakistan duo Sidra Ameen (up six places to 14th) and Fatima Sana (up 43 spots to equal 47th) also made some ground on the ODI batter rankings after some performances during the series, while Bangladesh left-hander Murshida Khatun rose 23 rungs to 52nd following her Player of the Match effort in her side’s clash against South Africa.

Women ODI’s Bowling Rankings

Bangladesh teammate Nahida Akter is one of the most notable improvers on the latest ODI bowler rankings, with the left-arm spinner jumping two places to equal 12th and a new career-high rating following a three-wicket haul against South Africa.

New Zealand pair Hannah Rowe (up four places to 22nd) and Fran Jonas (up 11 spots to equal 47th) also make a move up the latest ODI rankings for bowlers, with Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal continuing her good recent form with an 11-place jump to 21st.

With South Africa veteran sitting out the opening match of the ODI series against Bangladesh, it allowed Australia’s Ash Gardner to draw into a share of the No.1 ODI all-rounder ranking.

Women ODI’s All-rounder Rankings

New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine rises one place to eighth on this list, while Sana improves 20 spots to 16th.
