“It’s a great honor to be captain of a club like Yorkshire,” Masood said. “This is a club with a rich history and tradition, and it’s a privilege to be leading the team.

“Masood, who is also the first Pakistani player to captain a county team in England, said he was excited about the challenge of leading Yorkshire.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of leading Yorkshire,” Masood said. “I know it won’t be easy, but I’m confident that we can be successful.

“Masood, who missed the first few weeks of the season due to his commitments with the Pakistan national team, said he was still adjusting to his new role.

“It’s always difficult to adjust to a new role, especially when you’re not playing regularly,” Masood said. “But I’m working hard and I’m confident that I’ll be able to adapt to my new role quickly.
